Is it remotely possible to have emitting geometry which only emits light along the polygons normal, (with an angle setting for falloff) rather than having only diffuse emission.
We do not have something specifically for polygons of a mesh, but we have the emitterProjector node, which can be applied to an emitter material, controlling aperture angle (and resulting energy distribution) — here is an emitter material with projector, applied to a plane, instanced twice:
