    As far as we know, there is no better engine available for rendering jewelry. I’m not experienced in rendering jewelry, but I’ll be making some attempts in this thread. First up is a model from grabcad, lit with a simple hdri .. I’m going to try and teach myself how to make gems “pop” over time.

    Modelling wise there is transparent glue behind the small gems so no air gap, and the main gem needs fillets, not really sure if the main gem has an air gap with the setting but the setting should have a wobbly ‘chrome’ surface, not a perfect fit.

    Pop is mostly the intensity of small lightsources.

    Composition is very nice already.

    I only rendered one ring before in Maxwell, I think it looked quite real, but I cant find the folder today :~

    Found it, small stones look wrong though;

    with setting

    Today Postimages is resizing/resampling, maybe it always was, There must be someway of uploading exactly what I am looking at, grrr.
